Formula

diff hours = toOffset − fromOffset
converted time = local time + diff (mod 24)

Worked example

  1. From UTC+8 at 09:00 to UTC−5 → difference −13 hours (09:00 becomes 20:00 previous day).

Assumptions

  • Offsets are fixed numbers. Daylight-saving shifts are not looked up automatically.
  • Enter the offsets that apply on the date you care about.

FAQs

How do I write offsets?
Use hours from UTC, for example 8 for Singapore or −5 for US Eastern standard time.
Does this handle DST?
Not automatically. If the region is on daylight time, enter the offset that is in force that day.
What about half-hour zones?
Enter fractional offsets such as 5.5 when needed.
Can I plan a meeting for three cities?
Convert from a base city to each of the others, or run the tool twice.
