How to use
Enter distance, mpg, fuel price, hotel nights and rate, daily food, and trip days. The result totals fuel, lodging, food, and the grand total.
Formula
fuel cost = (distance ÷ mpg) × fuel price lodging = nights × hotel food = food per day × days total = fuel + lodging + food
Worked example
- 600 mi at 30 mpg and $3/gal, 2 hotel nights at $100, food $50/day for 3 days → fuel $60 + lodging $200 + food $150 = $410.
Assumptions
- Fuel economy is treated as constant.
- Tolls, parking, and attractions are not included unless you fold them into food or another line mentally.
